“I would teach children music, physics, and philosophy; but most importantly music, for the patterns in music and all the arts are the keys to learning.” – Plato’s Republic

While students at John C. Myers aren’t very likely to have a class in physics or philosophy, we do have music class once each week for 45 minutes. All instruction incorporates singing, playing classroom percussion and Orff instruments, movement, music theory, and music history.
Above all, it is my hope that students come to believe that they can be music makers and understand the music they hear around them.
